Seoul - Day 1

We landed in Seoul on December 27.  We went went out early on the 28th.  It was 17 degrees!  We were not used to cold weather.
We travel so much now that I am a gold member at the Marriott.  I told them about Caroline's birthday and they had a cake waiting for us in the room.  We came up with some reason to get her out of the room and lit the candles.

Then Bill realized that it might set off the smkoe detector.  Hurry up and get Caroline!

Surprise!!

We got a later start the next day because it was so cold we weren't in any hurry.  We stopped by a Mexican restaurant before we got out for the day.  We take any opportunity to eat familiar food when traveling.

The kids were dying to go shopping so went to Fashion Street first, Myeoung-Dong.
In the subway, always an experience.

Here we are at the front of Fashion Street.  Patrick decided to stay back at the (warm) hotel.
After Christmas sale!!

A familar store, its been so long!!  This is Caroline's store.  She was so excited.

They made me put away my camera after this picture.
This cute girl was trying to convince Jared and Caroline to come into her store.  You can see that they all follow the look of the Japanese girls.

As night fell, it was beautiful to see the streets light up.  It was very cold though.  Luckily, I had hit the Marine uniform shop and got a ton of hand and feet warners.  They did the trick.

Loaded with goodies!!  The kids are happy.

We love to try to figure out the subway systems.  This one wasn't as user friendly as Hong Kong or mainland Japan but we got around fine.

Back at the hotel, we got a free breakfast and dinner buffet every night because we are gold members.  So we made sure to make it bck each night before the buffet closed.  We had great family times at the buffet each night.  It was on the top floor and the scene was beautiful outside looking at the city all lit up.
