Easter - March 31

We had Easter dinner at the Renaissance Hotel. They have a really nice Italian buffet.  The weather was not so great but at least it wasn't storming like it was in the morning.
We decided to make it a family fun day (FFD).  Jared goes back to Florida for school on May 3 so we are trying to squeeze in as many FFDs as possible.  He invited his friend Daryl to join us.  We had a great time.

The view from the deck.  They have a swimming with Dolphins program here so we may try to do that here when the weather heats up more.

Ready for the buffet!!

Bill went to the dessert section first.

You can also order special pasta dishes for your table.  We ordered quite a few.  They were very good.  Some had that Japanese flair to them, others actually ahd that hearty Italian feel to them which was good on a wet day.

Caroline discovered the pineapple butter and benimo butter.  Benimo is the purple sweet potato here.  They have a really good Benimo ice cream.

Free glass of champagne too~~~~

Jared and Caroline...

OK, we are still in Okinawa so....

We filled our plates with desserts...

Sakura (Cherry Blossom) pie, Green Tea Cake, Peach panna cotta, Walnut tart

Daryl, he is Air Force

Daryl, Caroline, and Jared were laughing about some Instagram thing throughout dinner..??...

The lobby was really pretty, decorated for March...

They had birds all over the lobby.  He was awake before we went to eat, I guess I should have taken the picture then...

Me nagging at Patrick, I am known for nagging during pictures.  I was probably saying, "I am not ready yet.."

Daryl joined us for our family picture.

Good Easter despite the weather!

Caroline Science Fair - March 25

Today was the Science Fair for the 3 areas Department of Defense middle schools.  Your project had to be in the top 10% of your grade to be selected for the fair.  Caroline was selected for the 8th grade at Lester Middle School.
Her project was "Does Music Affect Dinner Conversation?"  You may recall some very lame pictures of us from a recent blog posting.  That was for her project.

Caroline with her friends Stacey and LeeAnn.

It was neat to see people stop and read her project.

All of the projects were really good.

3rd place!!  Caroline's school took 3 of the top 4 places at the fair.  A great day for Lester Middle School.
Patrick has been hard at work on his portfolio for AP Art class.

A work in progress...
