Kyoto Day 4 - Oct 7

Today we went to Sanjusangendo.  It mean 33 bays.

We are not allowed to take pictures inside so this photo comes from the internet.

Next stop was a temple that I can't remember the name of and am too tired to go find out.  We stopped at some shops along the way.  Bill tried on a samurai ponytail.

It was a National Holiday so many women/girls were in their formal kimonos to visit the temples and shrines.

Jared stopped at a vendor to buy a cucumber on a stick.  The lady was really funny.

She had us hold up a sign and take a picture.

Bill didn't know where we were so he was not too happy when we showed up...

The view of the city from atop the mountain.  You can see Kyoto tower in the background.

Patrick opted to stay down on the road.  He was hungry and tired.  Our fourth day of climbing mountains...it was getting to all of us.

We finally stopped at an Italian Restaurant for lunch.  We were on our way to the Silver Pavilion...The restaurant is on a trail called, "Philosopher's Path."  A really pretty walkway lined with cafes and shops, very quiet and peaceful.

Jared enjoying a Coffee Granita.  It was really good.

We never made it to the Silver Pavilion...We decided to just walk on the path.

Flowers for Bill's mom.

Kyoto Day 3 - Oct 6

Today we went to the Golden Pavilion.  Now we feel like we are in Kyoto!
Another beautiful day.  Lots of crowds at this one.

The next stop was Ninna-Ji Temple.  The site dates back to 888.  But the remaining buildings are from the early 1600s.

Fall is on the way.
