The students spent a week at Kafuu Resort in Nago, north of where we live. Kafuu is a beautiful resort. It is usually about $500 per night!
Bill is away in Florida and we really missed him, especially for this event.
I took Patrick and his friend Phoebe, and Caroline to dinner at Teppanyaki the night before he left.
You can see that Patrick experimented with a new hair color. He wasn't too happy so we had to go back to the store to get something to undo that dark color.
Nice Dinner!
The gallery show was Thursday night. Before the show we went around and took some photos of the grounds. You can see Okinawa is known as the "Hawaii of Japan."
I love infinity pools...
Patrick with his friends from the Festival...
We had a big dinner party before the show opened.
He was really happy to see us. He is ready to come home. He had a great time but they kept them busy.
Phoebe came along for the drive. She attended Far East last year so she new many of the students.
OK, ready to go in!!
Patrick completed 5 paintings. His major was acrylic painting and his minor was photography. Here is his submission to the show.

This is from the water color...
Patrick with Mr. Riggs, the Faculty rep for Kubasaki High School. I hate that you can't see what a charismatic man he is from the photo. He talked and talked and talked. He was really excited to be there.
Patrick just found out he didn't get Curator's Choice, so he wasn't too thrilled at this moment.
Some other submissions...
I love the one below...
The detail of the girl's hair was amazing...
Caroline and I loved this one....
Below is one of Caroline's favorites...
Another one of my favorites...
