Supermoon and Boating

The beach is about a 5 minute walk from the house. We went down for the super moon.

Bill and I got our boating license. We can rent boats really cheap at the marina on base. We like to go out to the huge sandbar, park and go snorkeling.
The first set of pictures are when we rented the pontoon boat, the next set is the Boston whaler (really fun to drive that one). The pontoon boats are about $40 and hour, the Boston Whaler are only $17.50 an hour.

Caroline Cross Country Meets

Here are some photos from various Cross Country meets. Each run is 3 miles. We have been at some beautiful locations.

Kaiser Meet

Kualoa Meet

Kualoa Ranch Meet
This was a beautiful place. They filmed "Lost" and "Jurassic Park" here.

Caroline's heat had to share the road with a tour bus. She is behindthe bus somewhere. It kicked up a lot of dust on the runners.

Moving In to Hawaii - August

Patrick got a job just 36 hours after moving here. He has a great job at Kalapawai Market. It is about 4 minutes from the house and a huge tourist location.
He was hired as stock person but they quickly put him behind the grill. Burger season is summer and Christmas.

We have a trail behind our house, called Pillbox Trail. It was unkown until President Obama went up when he was first elected. Now the trail is loaded with locals and Japanese tourists. It is beautiful at sunrise.
Bill and I took these shortly after we moved in.

Bird Park - December 26

We took a ferry to an out island. Really beautiful views of the city from the ferry. Then we went to the outdoor market that night.
Still trying to figure out the GoPro...

There is a park in one part of Hong Kong that is known as "Bird Park." Old men carry their birds around and hang out at this park. There is also lots of bird cages and birds for sale.

Go Pro Adventures in Hong Kong - Christmas 2013

I got Bill a GoPro for Christmas. We really had no idea how to use it. Here goes:

Hong Kong - Christmas 2013

Very late, but here are some quick shots from our time in Hong Kong last year. On Christmas Day we went to Tian Tan (aka the Big Buddha) and Po Lin Monestary on Lantau Island. This is my favorite place to go in Hong Kong. The weather was perfect.
We took the cable car up to the mountain. It takes about 25 minutes. It is so fun! Then we had a vegetarian lunch made by the monks and climbed to the top where the Buddha is located.
Just a great day.
